“No words can explain how delighted our son is at Little Belmont. From being a shy boy with a lack of self confidence, he has now become a confident happy boy who thrives and wishes the nursery was open during holiday!”
“Belmont has provided my children with the best possible mix of pastoral care and great teaching. By recognising and respecting my children’s individuality the school is enabling them to achieve their very best. We have really benefited from the good communication links between parents and staff, and the open friendly atmosphere, which gives a family-like quality to the school.”

“Belmont grounds are as shimmering and dazzling as a thousand tiny crystal particles”
“The best thing about Belmont is the mixture of sports, academics and good friends.”
"Belmont is the sort of school that makes you wish you were a child again!"
Parent – Lisa Davies
"Since my son joined Belmont we have seen a transformation in his self perception and behaviour. He is now a confident enthusiastic boy who bounces in and out of school. He talks about his day readily without inquisition. He is enjoying himself as any child at primary school should. He has become a child again."
Parent – Jane Wilson
“I like it that you can get to know everyone....it is just like a family.”
"Belmont has been a wonderfully nurturing and encouraging environment for our son. He has been really happy at the school, and as a result of the support, teaching and general culture of friendliness, has been able to fulfil his academic potential."
Parent – Susan Hughes
"My reception child wakes up in the morning pleased that it is a school day, my child in pre reception has to be consoled on the days that he is not supposed to be going to school, I could not ask for more for my children’s first years at school."
"There were several things that, for us, made Belmont stand out from the other schools. Firstly whilst there was a clear focus on ensuring children achieved their academic potential, it wasn’t the be all and end all of their education. There were so many opportunities for the children to experience art and music and culture and adventure.
When we toured the school (on a standard school day) the children were so happy and engaged, yet so polite and respectful. This in itself is wonderful, but when you pair this with the fantastic surroundings and facilities, and the truly friendly atmosphere of the school where every teacher knows every pupil it is a winning combination. Belmont felt like a warm nurturing family whilst other schools felt a bit too corporate.
Tom and Oscar genuinely seem to love everything at Belmont – but the things that really stand out are the way that learning is brought to life, the trips out and around school, investigating and playing in the woods, the clubs and the different events/shows that they do.
I can’t speak highly enough of the staff at Belmont, they are friendly, approachable, kind and caring. They foster really caring groups of children that are kind and look out for each other. The children have so much respect for the staff – the boys want to do well for them.
We love the way that achievements are celebrated – from work of the week, to the smaller things like doing well at lunch, or being particularly kind – recognised through being awarded a leaf on the Kindness Tree."

Case Studies from Belmont Parents...
“Our introduction to Belmont was through an existing parent. Having met her well mannered, confident and articulate children, we added Belmont to our list of schools to visit. We attended an Open Day and were impressed by the enthusiasm of both staff and children alike. Although the facilities at Belmont were not the best we had seen, the atmosphere of the school and the obviously motivated teaching staff were the deciding factors.
Since the appointment of Mrs. Skrine as Head Mistress, the school has changed, but overall I feel for the better. The facilities have improved and she continues to attract good teaching staff.
Our elder daughter, who is academically able but lacks self motivation, was encouraged and supported throughout her time at Belmont. She left having attained an all-rounder scholarship to her senior school and the confidence to tackle anything she is presented with!
Our younger daughter has required additional help and support with her studies. This has been provided very successfully by one-to-one tutoring sessions and perhaps more importantly, by individual staff members dedicating additional time to tutor and encourage her. Her artistic ability has always been encouraged and she is steadily gaining in ability and confidence.
The boarding experience proved very beneficial to our elder daughter. It eased her transition to full-time boarding at senior school and encouraged her to be more self-sufficient.
Many years on I am pleased to say the school has and continues to meet, both our needs and those of our children. Belmont has successfully nurtured our daughters and continues to motivate and encourage our younger child.”
